ABOUT ME
I am so glad you are here. Reaching out for help can be a difficult and crucial first step on the path to healing. It is the fullest of human experiences to suffer, grieve, strive, love, celebrate, and overcome. And sometimes our hardest endeavors become our greatest joys. As a therapist, it is my goal to provide a safe space for my clients to be seen, to be heard, and to navigate all that life has in store.
Whether you are stressed, overwhelmed, or just feeling stuck, you don’t have to go through it alone. Together we will forge a unique relationship, made specifically for healing, thriving, and making the most of what Mary Oliver calls “your one wild and precious life.”
I approach therapy from an integrated and holistic perspective. I believe we are all made up of an intricate combination of mind, body, heart, and soul…thoughts, emotions, physical sensations, spiritual experiences, and relationships – with others and with ourselves. I view emotional and relational distress through a lens of authenticity, self compassion, personal values and boundaries, past experiences, nervous system state, and social context. I am also trained in Somatic and Attachment Focused EMDR for trauma work.
My professional experience includes a variety of trauma, life transitions, relationship issues, anxiety, OCD, perfectionism, adverse religious experiences and spiritual issues, the music business and touring life, body image and disordered eating, and grief and loss. I have a B.S in Recording Industry with an emphasis in Music Business and minors in Marketing and Music Industry from Middle Tennessee State University and an M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Play Therapy and Expressive Arts from Lipscomb University.
In my free time, I enjoy music, theater, musical theater, art, films, books, poetry, podcasts, traveling, moving my body outdoors, making and savoring delicious food and beverage, and dreaming up intricate home renovation projects. I am often found alongside my husband and three children being loud, cracking jokes, and looking for the next adventure!
